Belarusian MFA aims for new agreement with EU

In early January 2016, Foreign Minister Makey outlined the MFA plans regarding normalisation of relations with the EU. Namely, Belarus will aim for the lifting of sanctions and for a new agreement with the EU. It is expected, that the new agreement with the EU (to replace the Agreement on Partnership and Cooperation signed twenty years ago which never took effect) will set cooperation frameworks for Belarus and the EU taking into consideration Belarus’ commitments within the Eurasian Economic Union.
