Viktar Martinovich declares death of Belarusian politics
In his column at 34mag.net Belarusian writer Viktar Martinovich states the success of the Belarusian authorities – they have managed to persuade the Belarusian society that the most important political event in 5 years – presidential election – does not matter.
Martinovich claims that the Belarusians’ bulletins are “void” since 2001 – since there is a candidate from the regime for which it is even useless to vote as he will win anyway, and “the void” – the rest of the candidates whose behavior always goes against the expectations of the society.
Martinovich claims that Tatsiana Karatkevich will be turned into “Dart Vader” by the opposition itself, and another failed press conference like the one last week will destroy any hopes in Mikola Statkevich.
The Russian side is grateful to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko for his decision to go to Russia as the visit after the presidential election, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov said in an interview with the STV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We are grateful for this decision,” the Ambassador said.
