Tatsiana Karatkevich gives a speech on Belarusian state TV
Political commentator Valer Karbalevich commented the first speech of Tatsiana Karatkevich, “Tell the Truth!” candidate at the presidential election on Belarusian state TV.
He claimed that the candidate didn’t disappoint him – she talked to camera without reading from the paper in a calm and consistent manner.
According to Karbalevich, that was definitely an oppositional speech – Karatkevich pointed out to the economic crisis in Belarus and criticized the regime harshly.
She also presented her ways how Belarus can start to grow economically again – but Karbalevich points out that this was the weakest point of her speech.
Overall, Karatkevich wrote that “a public oppositional politician was born”.
The Russian side is grateful to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko for his decision to go to Russia as the visit after the presidential election, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov said in an interview with the STV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We are grateful for this decision,” the Ambassador said.
