Organization of the polling stations commissions is over
The organization of the polling stations commissions in Belarus is over, reports TVR.by. Most of those who would be working there are members of non-governmental organizations and political parties. Around 5% out of all members of the commissions are public officers.
99% of polling station commissions would work with not a single opposition representative, says Vitaly Rymasheuski, the co-chair of the Belarusian Christian Party initiative Committee. “Most of the members of the polling stations are represented by pro-governmental “Belaya Rus” NGO and Belarusian Republican Union of Youth… In circumstances where observers cannot even get close to the polling tables, the opposition members within polling station commissions might be the only ones to verify the elections”, continues Rymasheuski.
The Russian side is grateful to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko for his decision to go to Russia as the visit after the presidential election, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov said in an interview with the STV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We are grateful for this decision,” the Ambassador said.
