Opposition leaders debates on Belsat

Belsat invited five opposition leaders to debate – pro-boycott leader of the United Civic Party Anatol Lyabedzka, pro-boycott leader of Belarusian Christian Democracy Vital Rymasheuski, leader of “Fair World” party Siarhei Kaliakin, head of Tatsiana Karatkevich’s campaign headquarters Andrei Dzmitryeu, and deputy head of the BNF Party Ihar Lalkou.

Vital Rymasheuski called Belarusians to register as independent observers at the election but not to vote: “The authorities left us the only possibility to protest the lies on TV, in the newspapers, and within a certain part of opposition – ignore the election”.

His position was supported by Siarhei Kaliakin and Anatol Lyabedzka.

In relation to the protest against Russian military bases in Belarus planned by the pro-boycott opposition leaders on October 4th, head of Tatsiana Karatkevich’s campaign headquarters Andrei Dzmitryeu claimed that he would join the protests although “nobody invited us (meaning Tell the Truth campaign)”.
