More than 600 observers are accredited at election commissions throughout Belarus, reports 1st Belarusian Channel. The biggest amount, around 500 people, are provided by non-governmental organizations , including the Trade Union Federation, “Belaya Rus” and Belarusian Republican Youth Union. Lidia Ermoshina, Chief of the Central Election Committee, has also mentioned that more than 40 billion Belarusian roubles (2 002 102 Euros – as of August 28, 2015) are allocated for the first round of presidential elections. The Russian side is grateful to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko for his decision to go to Russia as the visit after the presidential election, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov said in an interview with the STV channel, BelTA has learned.
“We are grateful for this decision,” the Ambassador said.
