Central Election Commission receives documents of applicants for post of President

On Saturday, September 5, the Central Election Commission of Belarus received documents of applicants for the post of the President. Four potential candidates reached the stage of registration. This became known after publication of the results of verification of signature sheets.

Thus, in support of Alexander Lukashenko more than 1 700 000 valid signatures have been collected, more than 7.5 thousand signatures have not stood the test. Nikolai Ulakhovich collected almost 150 thousand signatures. Almost 10 thousand signatures were not valid. Sergei Haidukevich collected nearly 140 thousand valid signature sheets. About 2 thousand signatures were not reliable. Tatiana Karatkevich managed to collect more than 100,000 signatures. 2000 signatures were unreliable.

Viktor Tereshchenko had the biggest number of violations. From 130 thousand submitted signature sheets only 6500 were valid. It means that more than 120 thousand signatures were invalid.
