Belarus President Declares $31,000 Income With No Cars, Property

Belarus leader Alexander Lukashenko owns no cars or property, according to an income statement filed before the country’s presidential election next month.

Lukashenko declared income of 551.8 million rubles ($31,000) for 2014, drawn entirely from his salary, according to the document published on the website of the central electoral commission on Monday.

His wife Galina earned 98.2 million rubles, fully or partly owned two properties in the Mogilev region of eastern Belarus and had 56 shares in a local butter-producing plant. The president hasn’t made a public appearance with his wife in years.
