Authorities present voting for Lukashenka as the only alternative to losing independence

According to the polls, the majority of Belarusians will support Lukashenka at the election. So why coming up with new election strategies?

According to Bykouski, the reason is Lukashenka’s intention to avoid the second round of elections. If there will be a second round, then current sparring partners turn into real candidates. The very fact of the second round is dangerous to the regimes as it raises important questions about the basis of the current model.
