Government continues to stimulate price-growth

The Government has changed its approach to pricing socially important goods and services, entailing a hike in consumer prices in February 2014.

The government will continue to reduce the list of socially important goods, prices of which are controlled by the state. Housing and communal services tariffs will continue to grow, outpacing other services. Inflation rate will continue to grow, due to the government’s excise policy on alcohol and fuel. The state budget will encounter additional costs due to the need to index social benefits by inflation rate.
