Airspace conflict between Ukraine and Russia could increase budget revenues in Belarus

Amid the closure of air communication between Ukraine and Russia, charter flights from Belarus have grown in number. Belarus charges from EUR 250 to EUR 320 depending on the aircraft for air control services. In the near future, flights through Belarus may increase, new flights between Belarus and Ukraine, Belarus and Russia may appear, Belavia’s revenues will go up due to increased regular flights, and Belaeronavigatsia may raise additional USD 10 million per year from flight control services if Russia keeps restrictions. Better competition on the Belarusian air service market may lead to lower ticket costs for Belarusians and increased number of passengers using domestic airports (currently, many travellers prefer Lithuanian airports for long-distance flights).
